SNYDER BERNICE (WALLACE) Age 89 of Oakdale, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 5, 2019 in her home with her daughters by her side. She was born September 23, 1929 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Daniel P. and Anna B. Krsul Wallace. Bernice lived most of her life in Carnegie until she moved to the Washington area. She was a member of the Daughters of Erin. Bernice was a licensed practical nurse who was employed by Dr. John E. Weber for 30 years. On May 30, 1950 she married Warren L. Snyder who passed away November 2, 2009. Left behind to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Barbara Jones of Oakdale and Patrice (Steve) Fowler of Indianapolis, Indiana; ?ve grandchildren; and eleven great- grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents was a brother, Richard D. Wallace. Friends are welcome from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in SALANDRA FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Joseph P. LENNON MARGARET ANNE Age 96, of West Mif?in, died peacefully on January 5, 2019. Born in Cresson, PA on September 19, 1922, the 7th of thirteen children of Alexander and Caroline Stein. Anne is survived by her children, Frank (Pat), Larry (Leslie), Bob (Arliss), Joe (?ancée Patricia Codelka), Tom (Bobbi), Maggie Graham, Mary Lou (Beau) Bourne; daughter- in-law, Diana (the late Bill); 20 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; her youngest sister,   Fran Stein, RSM, of Dallas, PA; sisters-in-law, Jean Stein of Cresson, PA, Anne Stein of California and Eileen Polanowski of Orchard Park, NY; as well as 53 nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Francis (Bud); beloved son and daughter- in-law, Bill and Sharon (Joe);   her parents; her siblings, Joe, Martha (Francis) Saracino, Caroline (Pudge) Parrish, Bob (Rita),   Axel (Ginny),   Mickey Kenny, Bill, Jane (Ernie) Lutz,   Germaine (Francis) Klemstein, Helen (Don) Criste, and Jim (Ann); and her in-laws, Bill, Raymond (Gladys), Ed, Rose (Frank Thurkettle), Jeanne (Joe Ward), and Ray Polanowski; and six nephews. An 11 year resident of North Braddock and member of St. Thomas Parish,   Anne typed the manuscript   for Fr. Ludvik Nemec's   book “THE INFANT OF PRAGUE” and was an active member of the Thomasonian club, which supported St. Thomas's high school and grade school. Anne and her family moved to West Mif?in where they have been members of St. Elizabeth of Hungary parish for 56 years.   She was an active member and of?cer of the Altar Society, the ELDA Guild, and PHENOTT.   The most important things in life to Anne were practicing her Catholic faith, raising her children, and spending time with Bud, her life's love, especially when they were dancing. Her other lifelong hobbies included playing bridge and reading. A loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Anne was a woman of faith, quietly practicing her beliefs and setting an example for her family. Always willing to help others, Anne traveled all over the country to help her grown children and care for her grandchildren when a family member was ill or needed help. Visitation for friends and family will be Tuesday and Wednesday from   2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.,   at JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME , 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA, 15236. RITTER RALPH J. 91 years of age, of Lower Burrell, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Ritter; his wife of 63 years in 2010, Rose Marie Ritter; brothers, James Ritter and George Ritter; and a sister, Anna Gould. Ralph worked at the Cheswick Power Station Duquesne Light Co. for over 35 years. He also ran a repair service out of his home, WWII Navy Veteran serving on the USS Midway, member of St. Margaret Mary Church and where he enjoyed working on the food bank, life member of VFW Post #92, life member of American Legion Post #868, and member of IBEW serving on executive board and as a vice president. His hobbies included ?shing and hunting. Ralph is survived by his two sons, Edward (Linda) Ritter of Leechburg and David (Kelly) Ritter of Williamsport, PA; a brother, Charles Ritter of Dayton, OH; a sister, Rose Marie Ritter of Verona, PA; also many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great- nephews. STEVENSON- CANNON MOLLY Of Englewood, CO, passed on with her family at her side on Oct. 20, 2018. Beloved wife of Bill Stevenson; mother of Will (Bethany Stephenson) Stevenson, Mamie Stevenson, and Sophia Stevenson; sister of Connie Cannon, Heather Cannon; and cousin of Ann Willcox Hoist; a unt to Kaska Komosinski Barringer and Stacia Kimosinski; devoted daughter of the late Don and Kay Kountz Cannon; loving granddaughter of the late A.E. and Marie Friday Kountz, and J.V. and Sara Barr Cannon. Molly Stevenson was a strong and determined presence and passionate advocate for being true to oneself and always doing the right thing. She was a fundraiser by profession--her favorite gig was serving as director of development for McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colorado for eight years in the 1990s. She loved the McKee culture and sharp focus on community. She also enjoyed success as a fundraising consultant and interim manager for nonprofits. But Molly was so much more than a fundraiser/ interim nonpro?t manager, as noble as that work is. She was an enthusiastic supporter of Regis Jesuit High School, which both of her older children, Will and Mamie, attended. Molly adored those children as much as she adored her husband, Bill, but no more than she adored her youngest, Sophia, adopted from China at age two. Not many of us working in non-medical ?elds can say we saved a life, but Molly could truthfully say that about Sophia, who was 11 pounds at 17 months and an extreme case of failing to thrive when Molly and her sister, Heather, picked her up 15 years ago.   Many other things could be said about Molly, about her years of distance swimming, love of yoga, delightful cackle at funny asides, strong faith, bountiful friendships, uninhibited dancing, and much more. But all such things ultimately pale beside Molly's incredible strength of character and determination to live a good life, which she so clearly did. “I've been surrounded by love,” she said shortly before her passing.   A celebration of Molly's life will take place at the Regis Jesuit High School, Girls Division Chapel. (Merante) Duranti; son of the late R o c c o a n d Anastasia Duranti ; dear father of Rocco and Anthony Duranti; brother of Sophea (Philip) Heidinger, Christopher (Mary) Duranti, Lynn (William) Mamakos, George (Suzanne) Duranti, Maria (Mark) Laipple, Theodora (Sherry) Duranti, Pamela (Michael) Miele; brother-in-law of Angela (Alan) Sleiman, Filomena (Leonard) Lies, Pasquale (Cindy) Merante, Anthony Merante; loving uncle of 46 nieces and nephews and 25 great-nieces and nephews. Frank graduated from Edgewood High School and attended Duquesne University. He was the proud owner of Duranti Restaurant for 35 years. DeVENTURA LOLA M. TAYLOR Lola M. (Taylor) DeVentura, of Clairton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday January 7, 2019. Beloved wife of 52 years to the late Gino DeVentura; mother of Lana (Guy) Perry and Bonnie (Jack) Peterson; grandmother of Jake Peterson (Lauren Adams) and Jess Peterson (Corey Swickline). Lola was preceded in death by her parents, George E. and Ruth M. (Whyel) Taylor and her brother, George Taylor, Jr.. Lola was a member of and a Sunday School Teacher for 44 1/2 years at Mel Hileman Ministry Full Gospel Fellowship Church in Charleroi. She taught Bible Study at Clairton Recreation Center, was a member of Crime Watch and served on the Clairton Personnel Board. Lola served for 50 years with the Girls Scouts and enjoyed baking and decorating wedding, anniversary and birthday cakes and chocolate candy for friends and family. GROOVER MARY LOUISE Passed away on January 5, 2019 at the age of 97. She was the daughter of A.E. Kountz and Laura Marie Friday Kountz and was married to Lt. Colonel Marshall E. Groover who died in active duty in May 1963. Her ?rst marriage was to Captain Les White who died in active duty in November, 1943. She was the mother of Sandra Strickland (Robert) of Syracuse, NY and Alan E. Groover (Marsha) of Pittsburgh, PA. Mary Lou was the sister of the late Katherine Cannon and Constance Willcox. She is the grandmother of Tracey Strickland Pickett and Alan Strickland of Syracuse, NY and Denise Groover of New York, NY. Mary Lou attended Ursuline Academy and graduated from Winchester Thurston of Pittsburgh. She attended Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY and was a long term member of the Pittsburgh Athletic Association (PAA) and the Gold Star Wives of America. She was a proli?c reader of mystery books and enjoyed watching the black and white movies shown on Turner Classic Movies (TCM). Mary Lou was a long term resident of the city of Pittsburgh living in Pt. Breeze and Oakland and more recently at the Arbors of St. Barnabas in Valencia, PA. The family wishes to extend its sincere thanks for the wonderful care provided to Mary Lou by the nurses and aides of the Arbors of St. Barnabas and as well as the nurses and aides of St. Barnabas Hospice. The family also wishes to acknowledge the special personal medical care provided over the past six years by her physician, Dr. Iyer of St. Barnabas Health System. MASLANKA ANN D. (TRISKA) Of West Mif?in, formerly of Oakland, on January 7, 2019, age 77. Beloved wife of 47 years to Stanley Maslanka; loving mother of Linda (Robert) Moore, Laura (Charles) Sprouse, Keith (Carol) Varner, Beth (Jeff) Lynch and Matthew (Lori) Maslanka; sister of Frank Triska and the late Joan Krashna; also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great- grandson. Ann was a receptionist at Rupp-Fiore Insurance Agency in Squirrel Hill.
