HINDMAN SUZANN (LEHEW) Formerly of Pittsburgh, died peacefully on January 5th, 2019 in her home at Kirkland Village, Bethlehem, PA. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Suzann was a longtime resident of Churchill Borough. The daughter of the late John G. Lehew and Hazel (Barker) Lehew of Crafton, PA. Suzann worked for the US Marshalls of?ce in Pittsburgh before marrying John W. Hindman Esq. and raising her two children. Her time was spent as a full time mom managing the household. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, baking, painting, and all forms of creative expression, winning numerous awards at juried shows. She even learned woodworking along side the love of her life, John. She was forever behind the camera documenting family functions and was given the nickname Suzy Kodak. She was an active board member of the Ward Home for Children and the P.E.O. sisterhood and served for many years as the Judge of Elections in Churchill. She volunteered her time with many organizations including Meals on Wheels, Girl and Boy Scouts, Churchill Gardening club, where she created classes for the children of the School for the blind and physically impaired. Suzann was also active in The First Reformed Presbyterian Church as a Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School among other activities. In her spare time, she could be found reading novels, playing bridge and going to the Theater. With grown children, she went back to work in the banking industry as a teller at Pittsburgh National Bank (PNC) where she was a head teller before retiring. In her retirement her love of travel took her all over the world with her husband, family and friends. Suzann is predeceased by her husband, John; and her daughter, Suzan (Elizabeth) Hindman; sisters, MaryJane McLaughlin, Jean VonBrieson; and her companion, Muf?n. Survived by her son, John Ward Hindman Jr. (Jack Weeks); brother, John G. Lehew, Jr. (Betty Sue); and sister, June Lehew. She is also survived by her extended family, Rollin Thomas White III (Evelyn), Barbara White Ellsworth (Richard), James Stewart White (Patricia) and many great-nieces and nephews. A Celebration of life Service will be held at Kirkland Village on February 9th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. COOK ROBERT W. Age 95, at Concordia of South Hills, on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Son of the late Clarence F. and Aline (Swisher) Cook; beloved husband for 66 years of Jean (Higgins) Cook; loving father of Robert W., Jr. (Louise Ann) of Bethel Park and Beverley (Robert) Barron of Mt. Lebanon; cherished grandfather of Jessica and Carolyn Cook, Amy Barron Lucas and Kimberly Barron Read. Bob was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and was a graduate of Withrow High School. Prior to World War II, he attended Ohio Wesleyan University for two years. During the War he served as a quartermaster in the Navy aboard the USS Goodrich (DD831) destroyer. Following the War he completed his education and began his career in the Cincinnati sales of?ce of Carnegie Illinois Steel Corporation. In 1960 he was transferred to U.S. Steel headquarters in Pittsburgh where he eventually became Manager of General Administrative Instruction for the Commercial Department. Bob was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, Cincinnati-Lafayette Lodge #483 F&AM, Tin Can Sailors Association and the Goodrich Association. He was also a member of Ruthfred Lutheran Church, where a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday morning, January 12th at 11:30. SEIGH DOLORES ANN "DEO" (PERETIC) It was a joyous day as family gathered around when Dolores began her journey to heaven to be welcomed by her Heavenly Father and her son, David. On January 8th heaven rejoiced as she heard the words “Well done thou good and faithful servant”. Dolores married her 8th grade sweetheart from Rankin High School, John Eugene ‘Jack' Seigh, 65 years ago on April 4th, 1953. She was the mother of the late beloved son, David John Seigh. She is preceded in death by her parents, Isadore and Caroline (Grgich) Peretic; brothers, Steve, Robert, and Edward "Sonny" Peretic; and sister, Helen "Honey" Vucic; grandmother to Caleb (Kayla), Ashlyn, and Elijah Seigh; great- grandmother to Liam Seigh; sister of Betty (Gene) Bender. To her several nieces and nephews, she was lovingly known as Aunt Deo. She would often invite her nieces and nephews over to her house to play board games and enjoy family nights. There was never a dull moment with Deo around. Her quick-witted humor and entertaining personality had everyone laughing when she spent time at family functions. She was always the one playing pranks and equally uplifting to those in need. She was a longtime member of the Free Gospel Church in Braddock where she was very active as a Sunday school teacher and also sang with her two sisters in the choir. She volunteered for 10 years at Independence Court as she provided spiritual guidance and comfort for those in need. CARSON RAYMOND EDGAR "RAY", JR . Passed away January 6, 2019 at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center. Ray was born June 24, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Raymond and Doris Carson. He earned his BS in Forestry and his MS in Entomology from the University of Minnesota, where he met his future bride of 57 years, Alice Becker. They were married in 1954. Ray served as Duluth City Forester and Director of Parks and Recreation; he was named Forester of the Year in 1979. He smoke jumped for the National Forest Service and was an adjunct Associate Professor in the College of Forestry at the University of Minnesota. He was a Mason and a member of Tusler- Summit Lodge #263, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in St Paul. He was also a member of the Duluth Valley of the Scottish Rite in Duluth, MN, Rotary International, and United Church of Two Harbors. He loved spending time outdoors and watching Duluth shipping traf?c. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice; and his sister, Dorothy Mussett; and brother-in-law, Arthur Mussett. He will be lovingly missed by his three daughters, Mary Robison of Jacksonville, Cathy McCarty Wallerstein (Dan) of Duluth, and Patty Scalzo (Rob) of Pittsburgh; and his grandchildren, Rachel Robison, Clara Robison, Sean McCarty, and Sam Scalzo; and his nephew, Steve Mussett of Evansville, IN. He is further survived by family friend, Eddie Ruisi of Duluth. At Ray's request, no funeral will be held; a private scattering of ashes will be held at a later date. KENT ROSALIND Died January 8, 2019. She was 94. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Roz attended Hunter College in New York. She was ?rst and foremost an amazing wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and great grandmother, who lived a life surrounded by family, friends, giving and receiving so much love. She was an accomplished woman in a quiet, digni?ed way. Roz was a teacher of piano in her home and Sunday School at Temple Emanuel.   She taught herself Russian and became a translator and an author.   Her book, Reading the Russian Language: A Guide for Librarians and Other Professionals was published while she raised four children.   She was a past president of the University of Pittsburgh Women's Club, past program director of the Jewish Community Center and she worked with Jewish Women's and Children's Services in Pittsburgh resettling Jewish immigrants. Roz traveled the world with her husband Allen, University of Pittsburgh Information Science pioneer, until he retired in 1992. They moved to St. Pete Beach, FL, then returned to Pittsburgh in 2010. She spent her ?nal two and a half years at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach, DE. She is survived by her four daughters, Merryl (Marc) Samuels of North Fayette, Jacqueline (Matt) Maryak of Swannanoa, NC, Emily (Paul) Yeager and Carolyn (Bill) Newcott both of Lewes, DE; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Allen Kent on May 1, 2014.   She was the heart of our family. Service and burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, January 11, 2019. LOKHAISER BERNADETTE "TOOTY" Age 79, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at the V.N.A. Inpatient Hospice. Born in Weirton, WV, December 30, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Frances Van Jura. Tooty was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years in Butler, ?rst working at the Butler Hospital and then at the Butler VA Medical Center.   She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler. Tooty also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the V.N.A. Hospice Center and the Butler Health Clinic. She is survived by her three children, James (Kimberly) Lokhaiser, Jr., John (Charlotte) Lokhaiser and Janice (Mark) Benninger; ?ve   loving grandchildren, Christopher and Tyler Benninger; Emily Lokhaiser; Katrina and Patrick Lokhaiser; two   great-grandchildren, Coali Bonus and Kaiya Lokhaiser.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Van Jura.   Friends will be received at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday. CATANZARO FRANK Age 79, of Oakmont, sadly passed on January 4, 2019. Born October 31, 1939, he grew up, and raised his own family in Oakmont, PA. His parents, Frank and Jean emigrated from Sicily in the early 1900's. After attending Northern Illinois University, he followed in his father's footsteps in the produce industry. Frank founded Sunfresh Food Service in 1980 where he spent the remainder of his career until he retired to Naples, FL with his wife of 56 years in 2014. He was a loving husband, father and adored grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Debra and Frank; daughter- in-law, Jill; and grandchildren, Jackson, Nicolas, Maximus and Quinlan. He was an honorable man of unparalleled courage, dignity, strength, bravery and kindness who was loved by family and friends. Frank will be missed beyond words but his spirit and inspiration will continue to live on going forward. Born November 21, 1952 in New Kensington, he was the son of Dolores M. (Squiller) Kapustik and the late Stephen Kapustik, Jr. Stephen worked for the Turnpike. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Kapustik; daughter, Amber Kapustik; son, Stephen Kapustik, IV; brother, Tom (Gina) Kapustik; two sisters, several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Rescue; and the cats, Jack and Ozzy. ZIERENBERG WILLIAM "BILL" On Wednesday, January 9, 2019, of Ohio Township passed peacefully in his loving home built by himself and his beloved wife, Margaret (Jakub) Zierenberg. On August 29, 1927, Bill was born on the North Side of Pittsburgh, one of 14 brothers and sisters. His brother, Herbert (June) Zierenberg is the last living of his large, beloved family. Bill was a U.S. Navy veteran who proudly served in WWII and loved to share stories of his service and accomplishments. Since a young age, Bill had always been a hard worker. After the service, he became a proud plumber for 40 years and belonged to the Plumbers Local Union 27. Of his many accomplishments, his best life decision was marrying his still living wife, Margie. They were lifelong friends ever since grade school and were together since the young age of 22. On June 16, 1951 he married the love of his life, sharing 67 unforgettable years together. Until the day of his passing, their love grew stronger day by day. Bill's gifts left to this world are his daughters, Linda (Grant) Moule, Patricia (Eric) Weisner, and Barbara (Tony) Pitell. He shared a deep bond with his daughters as well as cherishing his beloved grandchildren, Katherine, Cameron, William, and Elizabeth. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Upon retiring, Bill discovered his love for baking, and always made sure his family (especially son-in-law, Tony) had their favorite cookies made at all times. He had a passion for music (speci?cally Johnny Cash), playing the guitar, and sharing humorous stories. Even though he had many passions in life, his favorite was his wife, Margaret. MONDINE DOROTHY (BAXTER) After a wonderfully lived 93 years, Dorothy (Baxter) Mondine of Oakdale passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 10, 2019. Beloved wife of 64 years to the late Ernest Mondine; loving father of Sharon (late Al) Cretti of Bridgeville, Les (Linda) Mondine of Midway, Dave Mondine of Oakdale and Debbie (Dan) Smith of Oakdale; sweet and adored Grammy of Mia (Nathan) Muhanna, Adam, Michael (Tina), Natalie, and David Mondine, Bobby Stalter, Brooke (Lucas N.) and Alexander (Kaley M.) Smith. Also survived by 9 great grandchildren. Dorothy was the last of the seven Baxter sisters. She was happiest spending time with her family and baking pies and cookies. RICHARDS JOHN LEWIS "JACK" Was born to John R. and Elaine Martin Richards on Staten Island, New York in 1943. In 1964 he graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point New York. Among other posts, he served in Thailand, Vietnam, and Germany and culminated his 20 year Army career as the District Engineer commanding the US Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District from 1981-84. Jack retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1984 and settled in the Pittsburgh area where over the next 20 years he applied his construction management expertise to various consulting projects and arbitration cases. He also started the Construction Management program at the University of Pittsburgh. He was recognized for his long term excellence by the American Society of Civil Engineering as the Pittsburgh Area Civil Engineer of the Year in 2005. During his long term residency in the Pittsburgh area, his love for Black and Gold expanded from rooting for Army to cheering for the Pittsburgh professional teams (Steelers, Penguins and Pirates). After 20 years at the University of Pittsburgh, he retired and earned a Master of Religion degree from Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA. He then taught adult education classes at his church. In 2017 he and his wife moved to New London, NH where he passed away January 7, 2019. In addition to his siblings and their spouses, Lt. Col. Richards is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rosa Lee; children, John (Katie) Richards; James (Cynthia) Richards; and Catherine (Timothy) Marcy; as well as six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., at the CHADWICK FUNERAL HOME , 235 Main Street, New London, NH. KAPCAR VERONICA A. "VERA" On Wednesday, January 9, 2019, formerly of Regent Square. Sister of the late Albert, Emil, Andrew, Jr., and Anna Mae; survived by her loving numerous nieces and nephews. Vera retired as a Private Duty Registered Nurse and served in the U.S. Army during WWII on a hospital ship in Cherbourg, France. She spent her entire life serving, cooking, and caring for others. KLIMO IRENE B. (HREHA) Age 90, on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, of Baldwin, quietly passed from this earth into the loving arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to join her husband, Joseph for eternity. Born in Munhall, Mom lived the last 66 years in the house she and Dad designed in Baldwin, the only house they owned. She is survived by her children, Dennis (wife, Dianne) of Yukon, OK, Robert (wife, Linda) of Baldwin, and Lynn Shallenberger (husband, David) of Whitaker. Her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, her pride and joy, Richard (Andrea) Klimo of Edmond, OK, Ross Klimo of Yukon OK, Chelsea Klimo of New York City, Zachary and Lauren Klimo of Baldwin. Blessed with ?ve great- grandchildren, Jackson, Madelyn, Berkley, Berkley, and Mollie, all from Oklahoma City area. She loved "showing them off" at the annual church carnival, Bingos and Slovak Day at Kennywood Park. Irene also has two "grand-dogs", Henrietta (TDI), who never leaves her side when she visits, and Poppi, who also shares grandma's chair as well. Irene was proli?c with a crochet needle. In her later years she used that talent to make blankets for the Project Linus.
