SILVESTRI RITA M. ROSINI, M.D. Of Pittsburgh, PA and Ft. Lauderdale, FL, passed away May 8, 2015, at the age of 95. Born in Dunlevy, PA, March 5, 1920, she was the youngest of three girls and a graduate of Charleroi High School. She followed her passion for medicine and went on to study pre-med at Penn State University, where she was a member of Theta Phi Alpha Sorority. She received her medical degree from Woman's Medical College of Philadelphia (now Drexel University College of Medicine) and traveled West to complete her pediatric internship at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. She returned to Pittsburgh for her residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh. She had a thriving pediatric practice in Homestead Munhall and continued as a staff physician at both West Penn and Homestead Hospitals until her retirement. Dr. Rosini was married to Judge Silvestri Silvestri. Although they both grew up in the same area, it wasn't until Judge Silvestri's return from WWII that they married. They had three children, John Mark Silvestri, an attorney in Pittsburgh, Jean Marie Silvestri, a neonatologist at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, and James Michael, who predeceased her. She lived a vibrant life making many friends across the generations and spanning the country. Her pioneer spirit as a solo practice physician continued through her entire life and was evident in her retirement. After her move to Florida, she was an active member of the Ocean Summit Association in Ft. Lauderdale. Her mind, spirit, and grace shined through to all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Honorable Silvestri Silvestri; sisters, Vivian (Armand) Niccolai, and Thelma (Ben) Trnavsky.
