CICHOWSKI HAZEL M. Age 103, peacefully, after a brief illness, on Saturday, November 23, 2013, of Southside. As was her style, she did it her way. Preceded in death by her husband, Stanley "Homer" Cichowski. Hazel leaves to mourn her loss, son, Robert Chase (Mercedes); granddaughters, Christine Chase (Gary) and Constance Havrilla (Kenneth); great-granddaughters, Pamela Smithburger (Kevin) and Patricia Brady (Stephen). Family was the most important part of Hazel's life. The William Penn Hotel, where she worked as a check room girl, later advancing to chief telephone operator, was her second home. Living on the South Side her entire life, Hazel was especially proud of the transformations from the J&L steel mills to the current shops, businesses, and restaurants and loved the design of the FBI building. HOLLIS HOWARD MILTON 92, of Everson, formerly of Whitaker, passed away Sat., Nov. 23, 2013. He was born May 15, 1921 in Whitaker, the son of the late John Howard and Ruth Williams Hollis. Howard was a graduate of Munhall High School. He was a veteran of WW II having served as a pilot in the U. S. Army Air Corps in the Philippines. Prior to his retirement after 30 years, Howard worked as an Engineer and Brakeman for the Union Railroad. Howard is survived by his sons, Ralph Lynn Hollis and wife Stella of Bear Rocks, and William Charles Hollis and wife Wendy of Everson; his daughters-in-law, Bonnie Hollis of Duquesne, Diane Hollis of Pennsville, and Mary Lou Hollis of Brookville; his 18 grandchildren; his 27 great-grandchildren; his great-great-grandchild; his brothers, Jack Hollis of California, and Ray Hollis of Australia; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Howard was predeceased by his wife, Laura Margaret Hook Hollis; his sons, Howard Milton Hollis, Daniel Keith Hollis, and Kenneth Lee Hollis; and his sister, Ruth Thomas.
