(Martha) Rhine of Bend, OR, Cindy M. (David) Heskin of Cypress, TX, Carol A. (Leo) Burgunder of Melbourne, FL and the late Barry J. Rhine; proud grandfather of Charlie, Esme, Andy and David Rhine; Emily Barnhill, Sara and David Heskin; and Adam and Erin Burgunder; dear brother of Charles H. (Betty) Rhine of Apollo and the late Gloria Barkhammer and the late Hyatt M. Rhine; dear friend of the late Lorraine Prontiker of McKeesport. Bruce is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bruce was employed as a truck driver for 30 years and a yard master for 15 years with Harmon Lumber Co. in McKeesport. He was a loyal member of Teamsters Local #249 and also the Sub-Alpine Club in Turtle Creek. He was also a humble but successful landlord and property manager in Turtle Creek often lending a helping hand to his tenants. In his leisure time, Bruce was passionate about bowling, camping, fishing, woodworking, and visiting with his family. He was also a devoted, lifelong Steelers fan and enjoyed poker and a day at the horse or dog track. Friends welcome Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the PATRICK T. HART ALICE (SCHMITT) Alice Hart, of Oakland, died peacefully at home October 18, 2015 at the age of 97. A native of New Haven, Ct., Alice was a 1939 graduate of Albertus Magnus College. She also held a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where she was employed for 22 years as a faculty-librarian, retiring in 1986. Alice was a voracious reader, a big movie fan, and a proud Pirates booster. Alice is survived by her sons, John "Johnny" A. Hart, Jr. of Houston, Tx., Kevin Hart of New Haven, and Peter Hart of Pittsburgh; her grandson Carl Wiser of Canton, Ct.; her sister, Shirley Goglia of West Haven, Ct.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Prof. John A. Hart, her husband of 66 years; and her son, Brian S. Hart. Services in Pittsburgh will be private. DAUGHERTY WILLIAM T. BILL Originally from Pittsburgh, died on October 13, 2015. Bill was the husband of Dorothy C. Daugherty, who preceded him in death. He is also survived by their son, Dennis W. Daugherty and his wife, Chris, of Danbury, Connecticut. Bill was born in Pittsburgh in 1920, the son of Charles and Henrietta Daugherty. Bill and his brother, John Daugherty, grew up in East Liberty, a suburb of Pittsburgh. He graduated from Peabody High School and attended Carnegie Institute of Technology. Bill was trained in mechanical engineering and worked as an engineer and draftsman for mill and foundry companies supporting the steel industry including Blaw-Knox Corporation. Bill was active in the Memorial Park Presbyterian Church serving as an elder and Sunday school teacher. Dorothy and Bill retired to Palm Coast, Florida in 1984, where they made many new friends. He was an active member of the Palm Coast Pennsylvania Club and the Palm Coast United Methodist Church. He loved the Florida sunshine, the trips abroad he and Dorothy took and maintaining his model railroad set up. In 2011, they moved to Danbury to be close to their son and daughter- in-law. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the Temple of Love Mausoleum in Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park, PA at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015. Daughter of the late Lawrence W. and Bertha (McIntyre) Ritzel; beloved sister of Laurette (Stephen) Bentz of Plum, David J. (Rosie) Ritzel of Monroeville and the late Lawrence K. "Larry" Ritzel; aunt of Dave, Chris, Tim, Joe, Anthony, Faith and Amy Bentz, and Mara and Julia Ritzel. Carol was a registered nurse for 34 years until becoming disabled, 17 of those years were dedicated to her private nursing practice "Supportive Care", which she founded. Carol's practice provided nursing care and counsel for free-will contributions or without fees. In 1985, the practice received one of the National "Heart-of-Gold" awards which were sponsored by Nursemates Shoe Co. and it was recognized in 1985 by Mayor Richard Caliguiri for services provided to the people of Pittsburgh. In 1986, Carol was honored by Nursing 86, in its 15th anniversary edition, as one of the 15 nurses whose service "Enhanced the profession and makes an important difference in patients' lives".
