TECCA ARLENE E. 74, of Aliquippa, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, following a lengthy illness. Born July 28, 1939 in Cleveland, OH, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Annette (Vence) Sherman. She was a longtime resident of Moon Twp. until 1994. Mrs. Tecca was employed for 30 years as a secretary for the former Katy Railroad, before retiring in 1987. She then worked a short time for both US Air and Dick's Sporting Goods corporate offices in Pittsburgh. Arlene enjoyed spending time with friends and family, walking at the track, shopping, and her cats, Miles and Pretty. She was a dedicated Christian, who served Christ until her time on earth was done. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. Tecca in 1984; her daughter, Mary Tecca, in 2006; and her sister, June Gasper, in 2013. She is survived, and will be greatly missed, by two sons, Frank (Debra) Tecca of Tulsa, OK, James (Amy) Tecca of Aliquippa; a daughter, Susan (Mike) Marovich of Aliquippa; a sister, Carol (Wally) Muro of Cleveland, OH; her good friend and walking buddy, Nina Abadiza of Aliquippa; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of her Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 p.m. in TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 2205 McMinn St., Aliquippa, PA, 15001. ZUGELL SISTER M. DOLORETTA, OSF (MARY FRANCES) 90, a member of the School Sisters of St. Francis, United States Province, in her 67th year of Profession, died on Thursday, January 16, 2014, in Vincentian Home, Pittsburgh, PA. Sister entered the community from St. Mary Assumption in Pittsburgh, PA in 1944 and professed her first vows in 1946 in Mount Assisi Convent Chapel in Pittsburgh, PA. She received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Mount Mercy College (Carlow University) in Pittsburgh, PA. Throughout her years of ministry, Sister Doloretta taught grades one through five in many of the parish schools where our sisters ministered. She taught in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and West Virginia. During her years of teaching, she played the organ in many of the parish churches. Sister Doloretta was skilled in typing and was the secretary for the Pittsburgh Diocesan Office in Oakland, Pittsburgh, and was a Census Bureau Enumeration Clerk for the Federal Government in 1970. From 1976 through 1990, she worked in the Department of Communication for the Diocese of Pittsburgh and was responsible for arranging the weekly televised Sunday Liturgy, contacting the celebrants, choirs and participants. From 1984 to 1987, she was the producer for the Mass. Sister Doloretta retired from active ministry in 1999 due to her physical decline and spent the remainder of her years in the ministry of prayer. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Bernard, Joseph, Louis and John. She is survived by her religious community, her brothers Frank and Steve; nieces and nephews. The viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. at Mount Assisi Convent on Sunday, January 19. She married Peter J. Gottardi on May 29, 1965 in East McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Janet graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1966 and taught elementary school for several years. She served in numerous charitable organizations including Meals on Wheels, PEO International, and Women & Children in Crisis. Janet was very active in church activities, was an exercise buff, and had a passion for tennis and golf. She influenced many with her kind and loving spirit. Janet is survived by her husband, Peter Gottardi of Murphy, Texas; children, James Gottardi and wife Vicki, their children Anna, David and Claire of Austin, Texas; Julie Garriga and husband Greg, their children Scott, Matthew and Thomas of Murphy, Texas; Jerry Gottardi of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; siblings, Ken Kapp of Pennsylvania, Bern Kapp of Delaware, Terri Miller of Florida, and James Kapp of Pennsylvania; and a host of other family members.
