LYONS CAFFAREL VIOLA M. "ODY" (KLINKNER) Mar. 5, 1923 - Dec. 21, 2013, Viola M. "Ody" Lyons Caffarel, age 90, of Pittsburgh, PA died on Saturday after a brief illness. She was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Anthony and Alberta (End) Klinkner. She was twice married, first on June 27, 1946 to Bernard J. Lyons, Sr., who died on March 5, 1987 and later on June 2, 1989 to Alfred J. "Jerry" Caffarel, who died on August 22, 1999. She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen Moats (William) of Edinboro, Patricia Berwick (the late Lawrence) of Pittsburgh, Mary Ellen Burkhart (Robert) of Canonsburg; two sons, Bernard Lyons, Jr. (Monica) of Duncansville, Timothy Lyons (Betty) of Pittsburgh; two stepchildren, Susan Caffarel of Pittsburgh and Dennis J. Caffarel of Erie, PA; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; she is also survived by two sisters, Janet Alexander and Laura Mutschler, both of Pittsburgh. She was preceded in death by sisters, Alberta Neuner, Edith Rayburn, and Mildred "Midge" Lewis; a brother, Howard Klinkner; and stepdaughter, Lynne Dean. Ody was a homemaker and member of St. Sylvester Church serving as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She enjoyed gardening, church activities, and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, 15227, on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on December 27, 2013 at St. Sylvester Church, 3754 Brownsville Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15227. Interment will be in the Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery on Washington Road, McMurray, PA.
